NEW! Try SPIRITBAR Vape

Disposable e-cigarette brands like SPIRITBAR offer some potential advantages over reusable options, such as being more convenient, requiring no maintenance or cleaning, and can be discarded after use.

The final choice comes down to personal preference. If you are tired of having to repeatedly clean a vape device, a disposable product may be more convenient. But for long-term health and environmental considerations, a reusable e-cigarette may be better.

No matter which product you choose, use carefully to avoid excessive nicotine exposure. It’s advisable to first consult a doctor to understand what nicotine intake levels are suitable for you. How To Clean Your Vape Tank (Step-by-Step Guide)

Suppose you are simply changing the flavor of your e-juice and want to prevent having leftover flavor in your new juice. In that case, you can thoroughly rinse your vape tank with water and allow it to dry before filling it with your new e-liquid flavor.

However, if you are doing routine cleaning to prevent buildup or need to do a deep clean, the process involves a bit more than just a quick rinse. This is how to clean your vape tank step by step.

Step 1: Empty Your Tank

Before you start cleaning, you must ensure your vape tank is empty. If there is any vape juice in your tank, make sure you empty it first before moving on. You will also want to rinse the inside of your tank with warm water to ensure there isn’t e-liquid residue inside your tank.

Step 2: Take Apart Your Tank

Next, you will want to take apart your tank. A few different components make up your tank: the base, vape coil, glass tube, top cap, and drip tip.

Make sure to write down or take a mental note of where these components go and how they are put together to make sure you put them back together correctly.

If your coil needs to be replaced, now would be an excellent time to do it. You can get cheap vape coils at your local vape store or an online vape retailer.

Step 3: Decide Which Cleaning Method To Use

How dirty your tank is will determine which cleaning method you need to use. If your tank is a little dirty, you can get away with just soaking it in water for around 30 minutes to an hour. However, if your vape has a lot of gunk buildup and residue, you will need to use cleaning agents to get your vape tank clean.

If your vape tank needs a deep clean, there are a few methods available. You can use baking soda, vinegar, grain alcohol such as Everclear, a cheap vodka, or PG. Just Don’t get PG confused with VG (Vegetable Glycerin). VG is much thicker than PG and won’t clean your tank.

If using baking soda, mix a tablespoon with warm water in a bowl. Put your vape tank components in the bowl. If using any of the other cleaners, you can add them straight to the bowl without mixing them.

Some people like to use lemon juice and dish soap to clean their vapes. However, I don’t recommend this because dish soap residue can remain in your tank if you don’t rinse it well enough and you may end up vaping the residue, which is very bad for you.

Step 4: Deep Clean Your Vape Tank

Now, add your tank components and let them soak for at least a couple of hours. After a good soak, remove the parts and rinse them off with warm water, primarily if you use baking soda. If you used Vodka or PG, you don’t need to rinse them if you don’t want to.

If you cleaned your coil instead of replacing it, make sure you blow air through the open side so you can push water through the wicking holes.

Now, lay the tank components on a dry microfiber cloth or paper towel to dry. Once they have had time to dry for a bit, take a paper towel or microfiber cloth and thoroughly wipe the tank components to remove any access liquid. Make sure you get inside spots that may be holding onto the fluid. You can use a Q-tip to get into any areas that are harder to reach.

Step 5: Put Your Vape Tank Back Together

Now it is time to reassemble your vape tank. Not putting your vape tank back together the right way can cause leaking and damage to your vape device, so refer back to your mental note or written instructions on where the vape components are supposed to go.

That’s it! Now you are ready to refill your vape juice and get back to your vaping sessions.

Extended Tips

  • If your vape tank is filthy and the above cleaning methods didn’t work well enough, you can use an ultrasonic cleaner. Ultrasonic cleaners are used for jewelry and other things. Just make sure you use one that has at least a 10-minute cycle.
  • While rinsing your vape tank components in distilled water for the final rinse isn’t necessary, it is highly recommended as it will remove any residue without exposing your vape components to other chemicals found in tap water.
  • You can use a blow dryer on a low setting to speed up the drying process when drying your tank components.

Conclusion

Cleaning your vape tank is a straightforward process, and you can usually clean it with items you already have around the house. Only you can decide which cleaning method is suitable for you depending on how dirty your tank is and your personal preference.
